politics

Jaeger joined the German National People's Party (DNVP) and was elected to the party's imperial executive committee. From 1924 to 1928 he was a member of the Prussian state parliament . In the Reichstag election in September 1930 he was elected to the German Reichstag , to which he belonged until November 1933. In parliament he represented constituency 6 (Pomerania).

Jaeger participated in the founding of the German Conservative Party - German Right Party (DKP-DRP) in Wuppertal in November 1945. A year later he became its treasurer and was a member of the DKP-DRP party leadership until 1949, from April 1947 until his death as party chairman. In the negotiations of the DKP-DRP with the German party and the Hessian National Democratic Party on July 1, 1949 about a joint election to the 1949 federal election , Jaeger participated for his party together with Ludwig Schwecht , Eldor Borck , Leonhard Schlueter , Lothar Steuer and Adolf von Thadden part. Although the plans had advanced quite far, they ultimately failed. The reason was the declaration by the British military government that a merger party would not receive a license and could therefore not stand for election.
