Wilhelm Klein (born September 18, 1821 in Düsseldorf , † July 10, 1897 in Remagen ) was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Klein studied at the Royal Prussian Art Academy in Düsseldorf . From 1835 to 1843 he was a student of the landscape painter Johann Wilhelm Schirmer there . He then went on several study trips. He visited different areas of Germany , Tyrol and Northern Italy as well as Switzerland , Belgium and Holland . In addition to the landscapes, he painted portraits in national costumes of the countries he visited.
