Wilhelm Koch (civil servant)

Wilhelm Ludwig Koch (* December 23, 1863 at Gut Marienborn ; † December 5, 1942 in Berlin ) was a German administrative lawyer and ministerial official . From 1912 to 1922 he was President of the Reich Insurance Company for Salaried Employees .

Life

Wilhelm Koch was born the son of a landlord. After graduating from high school in Hanau, he studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität . In 1883 he became active in the Corps Hansea Bonn . He passed the first state examination in law in 1885, then worked as a court trainee in Höchst and in 1888 moved to Wiesbaden as a government trainee . In 1890 he passed the second state examination in law. From 1892 he was a government assessor in Danzig . A year later he went to the Imperial Statistical Office in Berlin . From 1896 to 1912, Koch was a councilor in the Reich Office of the Interior . In 1900 he was appointed lecturer council. From the Reich Office he switched to the Directory of the Reich Insurance Company for Salaried Employees. On March 21, 1912 he was appointed its president. He held this position until 1922. Koch died at the age of 78. He was buried in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Cemetery in Charlottenburg. The grave has not been preserved.
