Wilhelm Krausneck

Wilhelm Venanz Krausneck (born October 5, 1875 in Bayreuth ; † June 12, 1927 in Munich ) was a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician ( BVP ).

Life and work

Wilhelm Krausneck was born on October 5, 1875 as the son of a rent clerk in Bayreuth. After graduating from high school, he studied law at the universities of Munich , Heidelberg , Berlin and Würzburg . He was then promoted to Dr. jur. PhD . He joined the Bavarian financial administration service in 1899, worked for the government of the Upper Palatinate in Regensburg from 1903 and worked as a government assessor for the government of Middle Franconia in Ansbach from 1908 . In 1913 he was appointed a councilor. In 1919 Krausneck moved to the Bavarian Ministry of Finance as a senior government councilor and was appointed to the state council in 1920. At the same time he received the post of conductor of the presidential office of the state tax office in Munich.

Krausneck was a member of the Catholic student associations K.St.V. Askania-Burgundia Berlin and K.St.V. Walhalla Würzburg in the KV .

Wilhelm Krausneck had a fatal accident on June 12, 1927 in Munich when he tried to jump onto a trailer of a tram. When he got into the car, he lost his balance, slipped and broke his cervical spine and parts of the spinal cord in the fall. Five minutes after being admitted to the surgical clinic, he succumbed to the consequences of the accident. He was then buried in the Schwabing cemetery .

Krausneck, who had joined the Bavarian People's Party (BVP), served as State Secretary from March to July 1920 and from July 16, 1920 until his death as Minister of State for Finance of the Free State of Bavaria .
