Wilhelm Lenzmann

Wilhelm Lenzmann (born February 28, 1885 in Duisburg , † 1935 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer , ministerial official and manager of the German electricity industry.

Life

Wilhelm Lenzmann was born the son of the physician Richard Lenzmann . After graduating from high school in Duisburg, he studied in Bonn and Berlin law . In 1903 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Bonn. In 1906 he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD . In the same year he passed the trainee examination. After the 2nd state examination in 1911 he became an assessor in the Prussian administrative service. He participated in the First World War as a soldier. After the end of the war in 1919 he was appointed lecturer in the Reich Ministry of Treasury .

With the founding of the Vereinigte Industrie-Unternehmerungen AG in Berlin, the holding company of the industrial holdings of the German Reich , he became a board member of the company in 1923 and, in this function , was a member of the supervisory bodies of numerous large companies belonging to the VIAG Group.

His special merit was the structuring and organization of the VIAG corporate conglomerate, which he carried out together with Edgar Landauer (* 1888). Here he focused the company on the business fields of electricity, aluminum and nitrogen.
