Carl Wilhelm Heinrich Gustav Röttiger (born September 20, 1858 in Stade , † July 13, 1928 in Hamburg ) was a German educator .

Wilhelm Röttiger was the son of a lieutenant colonel. He received school education at grammar schools in Neisse , Hanover and Göttingen , where he graduated from school in 1877. After studying mathematics for two semesters at the University of Jena , he switched to studying new languages ​​at the University of Göttingen . In politics, Röttiger was involved in the right-wing spectrum. Röttiger gave speeches at the Bismarck festivities of the association in 1902 and 1906. In 1907 he co-founded the Hamburg Association for Combating Social Democracy and in 1919/20 he was a member of the advisory board of the Association of German Academics in Hamburg . Due to his political stance, he attached particular importance to national holidays such as Sedan Day and festivals in honor of Bismarck at the school. In the classroom, he attached great importance to highlighting the effects of "great men" and military successes.

In 1913 Röttiger received the Red Eagle Order, 4th class. General Hans Röttiger was his son.
