Wilhelm Rebay von Ehrenwiesen

Wilhelm Rebay von Ehrenwiesen (* 3. April 1909 in Miesbach , † 22. January 2004 ) was a German lawyer and District Chief in German-occupied Poland during World War II .

Life

Rebay von Ehrenwiesen, son of a public prosecutor, completed his school career at grammar school with the Abitur . Then von Ehrenwiesen completed a law degree . Von Ehrenwiesen completed his law studies in 1931 with the first and in 1935 with the second state examination.

Von Ehrenwiesen was a member of the SA from 1926 to 1927 and, after membership in the paramilitary organization Stahlhelm, again from 1933 to 1937. In the meantime he also worked for the Hitler Youth from 1933 to 1934 . At the beginning of May 1933, von Ehrenwiesen joined the NSDAP ( membership number 1.925.144). In November 1936 von Ehrenwiesen became a member of the SS , in which he rose to SS-Untersturmführer. Until 1937 he was a part-time member of the SD in Munich .

After completing his studies, von Ehrenwiesen was a government assessor for the Augsburg regional president . He then worked at the district administration and police office in Kusel , where he was promoted to government councilor in 1938 . From June 1939 he was the police officer there and after the start of the Second World War he switched to the district president in Marienwerder in November 1939 . From April 1940 he was a member of the SD main office and part-time headed the SD section in Thorn.

In the General Government was of Ehrenwiesen from August 1941 District Chief of Kamionka Strumiłowa in the district of Galicia . In November 1942 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht .

After the end of the war, von Ehrenwiesen was interned and denazified as a fellow traveler on April 30, 1948 . In the early 1950s he became a government director in Ansbach . In the government of Middle Franconia von Ehrenwiesen rose to the position of chief government director. He retired in April 1974. A preliminary investigation against him has been closed.
