Wilhelm Friedrich Schneider (born February 12, 1885 in Cologne , † January 11, 1979 in Bornheim , Rhineland ) was a German linguist , Germanist and educator .

Family and education

Born in Cologne, Wilhelm Schneider, son of the engine driver Christian Schneider and his wife Gertrud nee Gruß, studied German, French philology and philosophy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn from 1904 to 1908 after graduating from high school . Wilhelm Schneider was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD .

Wilhelm Schneider married Katharina, née Nachtsheim, in 1942. He died in January 1979, one month before he would have turned 94, in Bornheim in the Rhineland.

Professional background

Wilhelm Schneider entered the school service after his academic years. In 1913 he took on a study council office in Eschweiler, which he interrupted by his participation in the First World War until his appointment as multiple senior teacher of German at Cologne Friedrich-Wilhelm Gymnasium in 1929 held.
