Wilhelm Tempel (born June 4, 1905 in Lößnitz , Erzgebirge , † January 13, 1983 in Zell im Fichtelgebirge , Upper Franconia ) was a German lawyer . He was one of the founders of the National Socialist German Student Union (NSDStB).

Life

As the son of a master shoemaker , Tempel studied law and history at the Philipps University in Marburg , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Leipzig . In 1932 he received his doctorate as Dr. iur. He settled down as a lawyer in Leipzig and was a member of the council , from 1936 as vice chairman.

As a left-wing socialist , he wrote to Adolf Hitler on June 28, 1925 ; of National Socialism must work against the greed for profit of the contractor for the betterment of the workers and, if necessary, shoulder to shoulder with the Social Democrats to fight. The answer from private secretary Rudolf Hess emphasized the connection between the national and the social, which led Tempel to join the NSDAP . In February 1926 he founded the National Socialist German Student Union (NSDStB) with others and became its first Reichsführer (1926–1928). After internal conflicts, he resigned in June 1928.

From December 1, 1933 (Issue 1) to September 1934 (Issue 9), Wilhelm Tempel was the sole editor of the magazine "Awakening Europe. Monthly for National Socialist Weltanschauung, Foreign Policy and Foreign Studies", which ceased publication with Issue 9.

In the Second World War was William Temple sergeant in an infantry - regiment . From 1951 he worked as a lawyer in Münchberg , Upper Franconia .
