Wilhelm Wöhler

Wilhelm Wöhler (born February 10, 1814 in Gingst , † January 18, 1884 in Ludwigslust ) was a German Protestant clergyman and composer .

Johann Wilhelm Wöhler was a son of the later Ludwigsluster seminar teacher Johann Wilhelm Matthias Wöhler . From 1836 he studied at the University of Rostock . In 1840 he became deputy vice rector in Ludwigslust, 1841 doctorate in Kiel , 1842 teacher at the preparatory school for grammar school in Schwerin . In 1844 Wöhler became succentor in Malchin and in 1846 also vice rector there. In 1852 he went as the second pastor to the town church in Ribnitz and four years later he was pastor at the village church in Lichtenhagen , where he stayed until his retirement in 1879. Together with Willi Pitschner, music teacher at the Ludwigslust seminar, he published a chorale book in 1867.

Wilhelm Wöhler was married to Cordula Banck (1822–1900), the daughter of a merchant from Stralsund . His daughter Cordula converted to the Roman Catholic denomination in 1870 .
