Wilhelm Wolf (judge)

Wilhelm Wolf (born March 9, 1966 in Munich ) is a German judge .

Life

Wolf graduated from the Lessing-Gymnasium in Frankfurt am Main . This was followed by training as an insurance salesman at the Frankfurt branch of Allianz Versicherungs-AG . After a short period at Allianz, he studied law at the University of Frankfurt am Main from 1988 to 1993 as a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation . After his first state examination in law, he was a research assistant at the chair for contemporary legal history and civil law at the University of Frankfurt am Main from 1994 to 1996 , where he wrote his dissertation from old to new private law: the concept of norm-based collectivization in Heinrich Lange's work on civil law in 1997 (1900–1977) submitted and received his doctorate . The dissertation was awarded the Werner Pünder Prize of the Association of Friends and Supporters of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. From 1996 he completed the legal preparatory service in the regional court district of Frankfurt am Main and in 1999 the second state examination in law. He was also a lawyer at Clifford Chance Pünder in Frankfurt am Main.

Wolf was appointed judge for life at the Alsfeld district court in 2002 and was seconded to the Hessian Ministry of Justice in 2004 as head of the department for parliamentary affairs. In 2006 he also came as a judge at the Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt am Main . On November 1, 2006 he was appointed Vice President of the Giessen Regional Court , on October 1, 2008, President of the Fulda Regional Court and on August 1, 2010, President of the Giessen Regional Court.

Wolf is a part-time member of the Judicial Examination Office II in Wiesbaden, was appointed judicial member of the State Court of Hesse on December 1, 2015 and appointed President of the Frankfurt am Main Regional Court on February 15, 2016, as the successor to Johann Nikolaus Scheuer .
