William Finnegan (film producer)

William R. Finnegan (born June 29, 1928 in Kansas City , Missouri , † November 28, 2008 in Sag Harbor , New York ) was an American film and television producer .

Career

Finnegan served in the US Navy after World War II . In the early 1950s he began his career as a journalist ; among other things, he wrote news texts for the Associated Press . In the 1960s he worked as an assistant director on various film and television productions, including the agent series Solo for ONCEL . In the 1970s, among other things, he worked as a producer of the Hawaii Five-Zero series, at the end of the decade he founded his own production company. To he produced feature films belonging Western - parodies also a Sheriff! And Latigo with James Garner in the lead role, as well as with four Oscars excellent drama The Fabulous Baker Boys with Michelle Pfeiffer and the brothers Beau and Jeff Bridges .

Finnegan was nominated five times for an Emmy , but never won the award. In 2003 he retired. He died in 2008 at the age of 80 from complications from Parkinson's disease .
