William Wade, Baron Wade of Chorlton

William Oulton Wade, Baron Wade of Chorlton ( December 24, 1932 - June 7, 2018 ) was a British farmer , entrepreneur , economic manager and Conservative Party politician who was a member of the House of Lords from 1990 to 2016 .

Life

After attending Birkenhead School , Wade studied at Queen's University Belfast and then worked as a farmer, entrepreneur and economic manager.

Mid-1970s began to Wade, the 1965 Peace Judge ( Justice of Peace ) of Cheshire was, his political commitment to the Conservative Party in local politics and was from 1973 to 1977 member of the Council of the County of Cheshire. Between 1975 and 1990 he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Conservative Tories and from 1982 to 1990 treasurer of the Conservative Party.

Wade, the 1980 Freeman of the City of London , was knighted as a Knight Bachelor in 1982 . He was also chairman of the English Cheese Export Council between 1982 and 1984 .

On May 16, 1990, he was raised by a letters patent as Baron Wade of Chorlton , of Chester in the County of Cheshire, to life peer . On May 22, 1990, he was introduced ( Introduction ) as a member of the House of Lords . Since May 3, 2016, he has been on leave of absence from the House of Lords. On November 1, 2016, he resigned from the House of Lords.

Lord Wade was in the private sector operates and, among others, director of the company William Wild & Son , MAM Funds plc and Rocktron Ltd and commercial advisor Davies Wallis Foyster Solicitors , King Sturge Property Consultants and Hemway Ltd . He also volunteered as Chairman of the Trustees of the Children's Safety Education Foundation , as a Trustee of the MBA Agri Farm Scholarships and as Vice President of the North of England Zoological Society .

On November 9, 2007, the University of Chester awarded him an honorary doctorate .
