Wilson Muruli Mukasa

Wilson Muruli Mukasa (born May 7, 1952 ) is a Ugandan politician of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Life

Wilson Muruli Mukasa worked after attending school between 1969 and 1972 as an employee at the Stirling Astau Company and also began a teaching degree at Makerere University in 1971 , which he completed in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA Education). He then worked as a teacher between 1975 and 1985 and most recently between 1983 and 1985 as acting headmaster of the secondary school in the Nakasongola district . After the overthrow of President Milton Obote on July 27, 1985 by the military coup led by Generals Bazilio Olara Okello and Tito Okello , he was dismissed as a teacher. After Yoweri Museveni came to power on January 26, 1986, he first worked in the presidential office and then from 1987 to 1988 as a security officer at the Sheraton Hotel . During this time he obtained a certificate in hotel management in Libya in 1987 and, after a brief period, worked from 1988 to 1989 in the office of the resident district commissioner of Luweero as a hotel manager.

In 1996 Mukasa took over the office of Minister of Security in the cabinet of Prime Minister Kintu Musoke and held this position in the subsequent government of Prime Minister Apolo Nsibambi until 2003. In 2011 he became a member of President Museveni's National Resistance Movement (NRM) for the first time elected to the parliament of Uganda and has since represented the constituency of Budyebo County , which is in the Nakasongola district in the central region. In the governments of Prime Ministers Amama Mbabazi and Ruhakana Rugunda , he served again as Minister of Security between 2011 and 2015 and then as Minister of Labor and Social Development between March 2015 and June 2016 , before moving on to a new development took office as Minister of Public Service in June 2016 .
