Winchester Regional Airport (IATA: WGO , ICAO : KOKV , FAA LID: OKV ) is a public airport owned by the Winchester Regional Airport Authority. It is located about 4 miles southeast of the Central Business District of Winchester , an independent city in Virginia in the United States that is completely surrounded by Frederick County . The airport was first licensed for commercial air travel in 1937 and was referred to as Winchester Municipal Airport until 1987 .

Unlike many other US airports where FAA and IATA use identical codes, the FAA has assigned the combination OKV to this airport , while the ICAO runs the airport under WGO (the ICAO uses OKV for the airport in Okao, Papua New Guinea ).

Winchester Regional Airport covers an area of ​​375  acres (152  hectares ) and is 221  m above sea ​​level .
