Winchester Township is one of fifteen townships of Adams County in the US state of Ohio . According to the 2000 census , 1984 residents were registered here.

Winchester Township is in the extreme northwest of Adams County in southwest Ohio, about 25 miles south of the Ohio River , which forms the natural border with Kentucky , and is bordered clockwise by the townships: Concord Township in Highland County , Scott Township , Wayne Township and in Brown County to Jackson Township and Eagle Township (Brown County, Ohio) .

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two people are elected in the year after the presidential election and one in the year before. The term of office usually lasts four years and begins on January 1st. There is also a township clerk (secretary), who is also elected for a four-year term in the year before the presidential election. His term of office begins on April 1st.
