Windhausen is an agricultural district of Übach-Palenberg in the Heinsberg district . The name probably comes from its windy altitude above the Wurm . Because of this steep location and the Pissel draft animal leather straps, Windhausen is nicknamed “St. Pissel on the Alm ".
On December 31, 2005, 352 people lived here.

The “Willy-Dohmen-Park” is located in Windhausen, a freely accessible park in a former gravel pit that was donated to the public by the late entrepreneur Willy Dohmen in the 1980s. Among other things, 7000 rhododendrons bloom here on 20 hectares .
Backes
In 1986 the village community built a bakery based on the historical model and has been used jointly since then: the so-called "Backes".

AVV buses connect Windhausen with all other parts of the city as well as with Geilenkirchen and Landgraaf in the Netherlands .
