history
Windten was the seat of a noble Hofmark , which belonged to the Erding nursing court of the Electorate of Bavaria. The municipality of Windten emerged in 1818 from the tax district of the same name . It belonged to the regional court , district office and finally to the Landshut district. It included the places Hausberg, Hachelstuhl, Herbersdorf, Oberdessing, Unterdessing and Windten. On January 1, 1971, as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, the previously independent municipalities of Obergangkofen , Windten, Niederkam and Götzdorf merged to form the new municipality of Kumhausen .
