Winfried Aßfalg (* 1940 in Aitrach ) is a retired special school principal , local researcher and author of several books and biographies on artists of the 18th century and treatises on the town of Riedlingen , of which he has been an honorary citizen since 2010.

Life

Born in Aitrach and raised in Tannheim , where his father held the position of mayor, he first graduated from the then Oberrealschule with grammar school in Memmingen and graduated from high school in Saulgau . After studying at the Pedagogical Institute Weingarten (today the University of Education ) and studying special education in Stuttgart and Tübingen , he worked as a teacher in Saulgau , Mengen and from 1970 to 2003 as the rector of the special needs school in Riedlingen an der Donau.

Aßfalg, trombonist and founding member of the Dixieland band “Stüzles Halbe Stompers”, is involved in urban history research in Riedlingen with a focus on house research and the history of taverns and has compiled several biographies of important Riedlingen residents. Aßfalg is married and has two sons.

  • 1969–1989: Care and ringing of the white storks in Upper Swabia on behalf of the Radolfzell Vogelwarte, special nature conservation officer of the Tübingen regional council for the white stork in the administrative district.
  • 1975–1985: Member of the cath. Parish council, until 2018: honorary supervisor of the parish and deanery archives in Riedlingen
  • 1978: Palm carrying is revived
  • 1998: Co-initiator of the Albert Burkart Foundation
  • 1999 to 2019: 1st chairman of the Altertumsverein 1851 eV Riedlingen
  • 2003: Takeover of the honorary management of the Riedlingen Museum in the Schöne Stiege house and the Städt. Gallery. Organization of lectures, exhibitions and gallery concerts including the historical fortepiano by Conrad Graf (* 1782 Riedlingen; † 1851 Vienna), opus 819/1824 as part of the gallery concerts with European artists.
  • 2003–2005: Co-initiator for the procurement of the historic fortepiano by Conrad Graf by the KSK BC Foundation with its final location in Riedlingen on the occasion of the city's anniversary.
