Pietrek was also known for a long time as the “Bildpost Pastor” because he worked as a theological assistant for Neue Bildpost , a Catholic weekly newspaper in tabloid style.

He gained national fame when he went on a hunger strike in front of an abortion clinic. As a result of this action, the Christian life rights group Aktion Leben was founded. In 2000 he organized several demonstrations against the play Corpus Christi by Terrence McNally et al. a. in Freiburg and Heilbronn. There he appeared as a speaker against the play.

In addition, he volunteered for the national conservative small party Christian Center . Pietrek is now retired. He also wrote a column in Germany magazine because he felt a connection with the chairman of the German Conservatives , Joachim Siegerist . He also publishes every month for the Christian fundamentalist party newspaper Kurier der Christian Mitte . There Pietrek wrote several poems in each edition.

Positions

In his sermon on December 26, 2014, he said that Germany should primarily accept Christian refugees from Syria. Muslim refugees should find shelter in Muslim countries with the help of German finances. From his point of view there is a right to defend oneself against the alleged Islamization. He emphasized the supposed violence of Islam. In defense of Christian Germany, he called on people to join Pegida if politics continued to bring Muslim refugees to Germany. He thus represents a decidedly different opinion on the majority of Catholic clergy in Germany.
