Single parent Maren Bogner is a huge Pierre Brice fan . Together with her daughter Nora and her friend Gabriele Hochmann, she travels to Croatia to take a guided riding tour to the locations of the Karl May films . On site they meet their fellow travelers, the stud owner Elisabeth zu Hallbach-Süren and her assistant Simone Lehmann. The organizer Manitou-Tours provides the women with the local guide Alejandro.

During the four-day trip, various conflicts come to light; On the one hand, women struggle with simple accommodation in the great outdoors, on the other hand, there is also controversy between people. Maren learns that Nora wants to move out of her home in the near future and has to confess to her daughter that she has spent the money from the training account - saved by Nora's father. Elisabeth zu Hallbach-Süren, whose husband recently passed away, explains to her colleague that she knew about her relationship with her husband.

When the group finds a prop from the DEFA Indian films, Maren and Gabriele have an argument, who explains that she grew up in the GDR . In the subsequent scuffle, a shot from Alejandro's revolver goes off and injures his thigh. The tour group split up after the incident. Simone Lehmann rides to the next town with Alejandro.

Elisabeth tells the other women that her husband was a big Karl May fan and that she wants to throw his ashes in the Silbersee . When Nora's horse passes, Elisabeth rides after her. In the meantime, Gabriele explains to her friend Maren that she is a lesbian and in love with her. The two Germans Dieter and Gerd, who also booked with Manitou Tours , harass the two women; only through Elisabeth and Nora's intervention do the men flee.

When the four women reach the Silver Lake, they find that it has nothing in common with the romantic ideas from the films, they ride on to find another place for the ashes.
