Teresa Weißbach (born April 26, 1981 in Zwickau ) is a German actress .

Life

Weißbach grew up in Stollberg , where she became a member of the children's and youth theater at the age of ten. Her parents ran a bakery in Stollberg. At 17, Teresa made her cinema debut as Miriam in Leander Haußmann's successful film Sonnenallee .

From 1999 to 2003 she studied at the Rostock University of Music and Theater and graduated as a graduate actress. During this time she appeared at the Volkstheater in Rostock and at the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin, including as Ismene in Antigone . In 2002 she took on a television role in the ARD series Berlin, Berlin . In the summer of 2004, Weißbach was on stage at the Bayreuth Festival , followed by an engagement at the Burgtheater in Vienna from 2005 to 2007 . In The Measure of Things , she was seen as Evelyn in the Hamburger Kammerspiele in 2009 . In 2012, Weissbach played Nora en suite in 34 performances in Harald Demmer's production NORA- or a doll's house at the Alten Schauspielhaus in Stuttgart.

Since 2010 Teresa Weißbach has performed her own theatrical recital In der Bar zum Crocodil .

In the summer of 2011 she was in the world premiere of The Story of Joseph Süß Oppenheimer called 'Jud Süß' at the 10th Nibelungen Festival Worms in the role of Duchess Marie-Auguste under the direction of Dieter Wedel on stage. At the 1st Zwinger Festival 2011 in Dresden (also staged by Dieter Wedel) she was seen in the world premiere of The King's Mistress as the title role Anna Constantia Countess von Hoym, who later became Countess Cosel. In 2012 she was again on stage under Wedel’s direction in the production The fortune of Mr Suss in front of 1200 spectators in Worms.

Teresa Weißbach lives in Berlin. She is in a relationship with the director Carsten Fiebeler .

On April 25, 2012 she was appointed an ambassador for the Ore Mountains by the District Administrator of the Erzgebirge District , Frank Vogel .
