Winy Maas (* 1959 in Schijndel ) is a Dutch architect and partner in the MVRDV office , currently one of the world's most successful Dutch architecture offices in Rotterdam .

Life

Winy Maas studied landscape architecture from 1978 to 1983 at the RHSTL Boskoop and then from 1984 to 1990 architecture and urban planning at the Technical University of Delft .

As an employee in the Office for Metropolitan Architecture , he worked closely with Rem Koolhaas . In addition to further experience in various architectural offices, Maas u. a. also for UNESCO in Nairobi . In 1991 he founded the MVRDV architectural office in Rotterdam together with Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries .

The teaching activities of Winy Maas extend to numerous European and non-European universities, u. a. the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam , the Cooper Union New York , the Architectural Association London and the universities of Delft , Berlin , Barcelona , Oslo , Los Angeles and Chicago . Winy Maas has been a member of the Barcelona City Advisory Team since 2000 .
