The red wines are obtained through classic must fermentation, selected wines mature in small oak barrels after fermentation.

history

Memorial plaque for Paul and Johanna Robitschek

The cellars of the Krems winemakers in the sand pit were owned by the Jewish wine merchant Paul Robitschek and his mother Johanna. The aryanization of the wineries that originally belonged to Paul Robitschek was the theme of the historical novel Wein des Vergessens in 2018 . In response to the publication of the novel, the Krems winemakers have announced a comprehensive scientific analysis of these aspects of their history. The former head of the documentation archive of the Austrian resistance , Brigitte Bailer-Galanda , was called in as a consultant for this purpose . In July 2019, a memorial plaque for Paul and Johanna Robitschek was unveiled at the Hiata hut at sand pit 13.
