background information

In coming to get him, we do not is the first football song Raab. Twenty years earlier, on July 11, 1994, Raab published the song Böörti Böörti Vogts in the run-up to the 1994 World Cup , a homage to the then national coach Berti Vogts . Four years later for the 1998 World Cup , Raab released a remix version of Böörti Böörti Vogts , who at that time was still the coach of the German national soccer team .

content

The lyrics to We come to fetch it are written entirely in German. The music and the text were specially written by Stefan Raab . Musically, the different versions of the song range from pop , reggae and rock music . In the song, Raab cheers on each and every one of the German national players to bring the “golden world cup” ( FIFA World Cup ) to Germany. Raab refers to all the players who, after Joachim Löw's preliminary thirties squad, were certain that they would go to the World Cup. So it happens that he also addresses the Dortmund players Marco Reus and Marcel Schmelzer , who could not take part due to lack of fitness or injury.

When asked how Raab came up with the idea for this song, he said the following: “There are more World Cup songs for the 2014 World Cup than rarely before. So I thought, I'm not going to do another one, but three! The musical range of the titles is so great that everyone will definitely not like at least one song at all ”.

"Caution! Attention!
Because we come to get it,
the golden world cup.
We'll spank everyone's ass
because we're back. "

- Refrain, original excerpt
