The Wischera ( Russian Вишера, Вышера (Wyschera), Komi Висер (Wiser)) is a 247 km long right tributary of the Wytschegda in the Komi Republic in northwestern Russia .
It rises west of Lake Sindorskovo . From there it flows mainly in a southerly direction, later in an easterly direction. After the confluence of the largest tributary, the Niwschera , the Wischera turns south again and finally flows into the Wytschegda coming from the north.
The Wischera is covered with ice between November and the end of April. Much of the annual runoff results from the snowmelt in the late spring. The mean discharge at the Lun gauge , 57 km from the estuary, is 79 m³ / s. The catchment area of the Wischera covers 8780 km².
