Wittinghof is a village in the municipality of Kefermarkt in the Freistadt district , Upper Austria .
The village is located south of Kefermarkt and about three kilometers east of the Mühlkreis Autobahn . In Franziszeischer land registry from 1827 Wittinghof is not yet listed, but the scattered farmsteads that make Wittinghof today. On January 1st, 2020 the village had 135 inhabitants.
history
The earliest written evidence is from 1230 and is "Villicatio Wittigonis". Villicatio referred to an estate belonging to an imperial estate . The name is likely to go back to the Bohemian noble family of the Witigones .
