Wjatscheslav Vasiljewitsch Tichonow ( Russian Вячеслав Васильевич Тихонов ; scientific transliteration Vjačeslav Vasil'evič Tihonov ; born  February 8, 1928 in Pavlovsky Possad ; † December 4, 2009 in Moscow and the USSR ) was a Russian actor . He was one of Russia's most famous actors and starred in dozens of feature films that are now part of the classic legacy of Soviet cinema.

Life

Tichonow completed an acting training at the film school VGIK in Moscow until 1950 . He made his film debut in 1948 under Sergei Gerasimow in the Fadejew film The Young Guard . In the 1960s he played successful roles in Samson Samsonov's Optimistic Tragedy (1963) and Sergei Bondarchuk's War and Peace (1966-1967), in which he played Andrei Bolkonsky. For this achievement he was named the best actor of the year in the readers' poll of the magazine "Sowjetski ekran". With the multi-part television film Seventeen Moments of Spring , in which he played a Soviet spy in Nazi Germany named Max von Stierlitz, he achieved great popularity in 1972/73.

Tikhonov received several national awards. In 1980 Stanislav Rostozki (under the pseudonym Stepan Stepanow ) shot the film portrait Professija - a cinema actor about him . He was married to the actress Nonna Mordjukowa from 1948 to 1963 ; his two children Vladimir Tikhonov († 1990) and his daughter Anna Tichonowa also became actors.
