Samson Iossifowitsch Samsonow
Samson Samsonov ( Russian Самсон Иосифович Самсонов ; born as Samson gem ; born February 10 . Jul / 23. February 1921 greg. In Novozybkov , † 31 August 2002 in Moscow ) was a Russian film director , screenwriter and actor .
Life
Samsonov grew up in the Bryansk Oblast . In 1939 he began working as an actor for the Mosfilm studios. He completed his training under Sergei Gerassimow and his wife Tamara Makarova in 1949 at the "State All-Union Institute for Cinematography" (Russian: Всесоюзный государственный институт кинематографии), ( today 's Institute for Kinematography ). He gained his first directorial experience in 1948 with the film "Young Guard" (Molodaya Gvardiya; Молодая гвардия), for which his teacher Sergei Gerasimow was responsible for the script and direction. From 1952 to 1953 he worked at the Wachtangow Theater , in 1955 he was appointed Executive Producer at the Mosfilm Studios. He was married to the actress Margaret Volodina, who starred in numerous of his films. Samsonov died after a long illness and was buried in the Troyekurovo cemetery in Moscow .
