The Wjoksa ( Russian Вёкса ) is a left tributary of the Kostroma in the Kostroma Oblast .
The Wjoksa forms the outflow of the Galitscher Lake , which is located on the Galitscher Heights . It meanders through the swampy forest landscape in a predominantly westerly direction. Finally it reaches the city of Bui , 40 km to the west , where it flows into the left bank of the Kostroma river.
The Wjoksa has a length of 84 km. It drains an area of 2880 km². At river kilometer 63, its most important and at the same time richer tributary, the Nolja , meets the Wjoksa from the right.
