Wladimir Olegowitsch Nikitin ( Russian Владимир Олегович Никитин , born March 25, 1990 in Stary Oskol , Soviet Union ) is a Russian professional boxer.

Amateur career

The 1.68 m left boom took third place at the Russian Championships in 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2010 he also won the Russian U22 bantamweight Spartakiad.

In 2012 he won the Russian U22 championships and the Russian bantamweight championships. He defeated Arman Abramijan (17: 6), Nikolai Kosijan (12: 7), Nikita Fedorschenko (10: 6), two times Yevgeny Averin (14: 6, week ), Machir Paschajew (18: 6), Abdulchakim Batirov (15 : 7), Roman Romanenko (demolition) and Tigran Uslijan (17: 9).

In December 2012 he also won the U22 European Championships in Kaliningrad in bantamweight . On the way to the title, he defeated Sean McGoldrick from Wales (15: 9), Declan Geraghty from Ireland (17: 7), Mykola Butsenko from Ukraine (23: 8) and Aram Awagjan from Armenia (17: 7). He also took part in the 2013 European Championships in Minsk ; after victories against Joe Ham from Scotland (3-0) and Georgi Gogatišvili from Georgia (2-1), he lost in the semifinals to John Nevin from Ireland (0-3).

In October 2013 he was runner- up in Almaty . After victories against Juan Reyes from Guyana (3: 0), Veaceslav Gojan from Moldova (3: 0), Michael Conlan from Ireland (3: 0) and Mykola Butsenko from Ukraine (2: 1) he reached the final where he did against Cavid Çələbiyev from Azerbaijan (0: 3) lost.

In 2014 and 2015 he again won the Russian championships. At the 2016 Olympic Games he defeated Boe Warawara from Vanuatu in the preliminary round, Chatchai Butdee from Thailand in the round of 16 and in a controversial fight against Irish Michael Conlan in the quarter-finals . Then Nikitin retired due to a hand injury in the semi-finals and won bronze.

World Series of Boxing

In the 2013-14 season, Nikitin fought for the first time for the Russian Boxing Team in the World Series of Boxing . He was used twice in the regular season and was able to win both fights. Nikitin was also used in the quarter-finals against Ukraine Otamans (victory over Mykola Butsenko ) and in the semi-finals against the Cuba Domadores (victory over Norlan Yera). However, the Russian Boxing Team was eliminated in the semifinals.

In the 2015 season, Nikitin was used in six of seven regular season fights, winning all of them. He took first place in the ranking of his weight class this season and qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games .

Professional career

He made his professional debut on July 28, 2018.
