Life

Wladislaus parents were Duke Boleslaus I and Eufemia of Mazovia . In 1444 he married Margareta von Cilli .

After the death of his father Boleslaus I, Wladislaus inherited his property together with his brothers Wenceslaus I , Primislaus II and Boleslaus II . Since they were not yet of legal age, they were initially under the tutelage of their mother, who also ruled the duchy until 1442. After the division that took place that year, Wladislaus received the “royal” half of Glogau, which his grandfather Primislaus I had received from the Bohemian King Wenceslaus in 1384 .

In 1452 he owned one from Emperor Friedrich III in Quaritz . lent customs. In 1458 he founded the Franciscan monastery in Kainzen near Guhrau. Like his brother Primislaus, Wladislaus was also a supporter of the Bohemian King George of Podebrady . At his side he fought against the Breslauers , who were led by their field captain Balthasar von Sagan . During the siege of the city, he was badly wounded on October 1, 1459 and died on February 14, 1460.

Since he did not leave any descendants, his domain, the royal half of Glogau, passed on to his widow Margareta von Cilli as personal belongings . She died in 1480 in the Guhrau castle, where she had fled because of the Glogau succession dispute. The "royal" half of Glogau was permanently lost to the Teschen dukes in the same year.
