Their capital was Biała Podlaska . As a result of the territorial reform, it was dissolved at the end of 1998 and largely taken over in the Lublin Voivodeship in early 1999 .

The westernmost point was in the municipality of Ulan Majorat (22 ° 21 'east longitude), the easternmost point at 23 ° 39' E. in the border community of Koden.

Origin and whereabouts of the communities

The Biała Podlaska Voivodeship was established in May 1975 from the dissolved Lublin Voivodeship (województwo lubelskie), namely from the districts of Biala (powiat bialski, all 13 municipalities), Radzyn (pow.radzyński, 9 of the 13 municipalities), Parczew (pow.parczewski, 6 of the 8 municipalities), Wlodawa (pow. Włodawski, 5 of 12 municipalities) and Łukow (pow. Łukowski, 1 of 12 municipalities). In addition, there were 7 of the 9 municipalities from the Łosice district (pow. Łosicki) from the Warsaw Voivodeship (województwo warszawskie).
At the beginning, the voivodeship consisted of 6 cities (miast) and 35 rural communities (gminy).
In 1999 all municipalities were incorporated into the Lublin Voivodeship (woj. Lubelskie), which was re-established in 1945 . The six municipalities of the Łosice district (Huszlew, Olszanka, Platerów, Sarnaki and Stara Kornica as well as the district town) came to the Masovian Voivodeship (województwo mazowieckie).
