Wolf Willi Böhringer (born January 16, 1930 in Heilbronn ; † August 3, 2011 there ) was a German businessman , chess player , chess columnist and chess composer . In May 2002 the German Chess Federation expressed its gratitude and recognition in the form of an honorary certificate.

Career

Wolf Böhringer was born in Heilbronn in 1930 as the son of Karl Wilhelm and Walburga Böhringer (née Schupp). He took up the profession of technical businessman and married Karin Gertrud Schreier from Leipzig, with whom he had two daughters. On May 9, 1951, he was one of the 30 founding members of the Heilbronn chess club. From 1958 he was first until 1973, then again from 1974 to 1992 chairman of Heilbronner SV and during this time he was always one of the strongest players in the club. He also led the club's list of record players with 430 appearances in team fights.

Böhringer was Heilbronn city champion in chess in 1952, 1958, 1961, 1963, 1966 and 1969. In correspondence chess , he reached the final round of the German championship. He also maintained from 4 August 1951 to 19 February 2011, almost 60 years the chess corner called chess section of the Heilbronner Stimme before he had to give for health reasons.

At the age of 81 he died one day before the chess corner's 60th birthday .
