Wolf of Bettendorf (* 1490 , † May 16th . Jul / 27 May . Greg 1555 in Gross-Umstadt ) was the Electoral Palatinate bailiff in Oberamt Otzberg and half Umstadt .

Life

Wolf von Bettendorf came from the von Bettendorf family . He was the tenth child of Philipp von Bettendorf (1446) and his second wife Noppurga (Notburga) von Westerstetten .

His nephew Dietrich von Bettendorf reigned as Prince-Bishop of Worms from 1552 . His brother Philipp married Veronika von Venningen , daughter of the long-time Electoral Palatinate Chancellor Florence von Venningen (1466-1538) and niece of Abbess Margaretha von Venningen († 1505).

Wolf von Bettendorf was twice (1530 and 1547) Oberamtmann of the Electoral Palatinate in the Umstadt condominium and in the Otzberg Oberamt .

Marriage and offspring

He married Margaretha Brackin von Klingen, the daughter of Konrad Brack von Klingen and Maria von Kronberg . Nine children were born from this marriage.

Tombs

Two grave epitaphs made of yellow to reddish sandstone are located in the town church of Groß-Umstadt: The tombstone of Wolf von Bettendorf († 1554) and a fragment of his daughter Lucia von Bettendorf († 1554), born Landschad von Steinach , who died in the same year .
