Wolfgang Ballwieser

Wolfgang Ballwieser (born December 17, 1948 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a retired German professor of business administration , in particular accounting and auditing, at the Faculty of Business Administration at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. He did his doctorate with Jörg Baetge on the subject of " Cash Management and Securities Investment " and completed his habilitation with Adolf Moxter on the subject of " Company Valuation and Complexity Reduction " in Frankfurt. Ballwieser retired on March 31, 2014.

His scientific work focuses on company valuation , international accounting and auditing.

Memberships

In 2003 Ballwieser became a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences , and in 1998 a member of the board of the Schmalenbach Society . From 2006 to 2015 he was a member of the Scientific Working Group for Regulatory Issues (WAR) at the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) and from 1996 to 2014 he was a member of the Expert Committee for Company Valuation and Business Administration (FAUB; formerly Working Group Company Valuation AKU) of the Institute of Auditors (IDW) . He was editor of Schmalenbach's magazine for business research (zfbf) from 1998 to 2012 and managing editor of Schmalenbach Business Review (sbr) from 2000 to 2012. He is still the editor of both magazines. In 2001 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Wuppertal , and in 2002 the Dr. 2001 Kausch Prize at the University of St. Gallen .
