Wolfgang Fritsch-Albert

Wolfgang Fritsch-Albert (* 1946 in Billerbeck ) is a German manager and former CEO of Westfalen AG , of which he has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2018.

Life

After an apprenticeship in a bank , a degree in business administration and practical experience in international oil companies , Wolfgang Fritsch-Albert joined the family company under the chairmanship of his father Herbert Albert. When his father died in 1974, he was appointed to the board . In 1977 he took over the management of the company after the death of his uncle August-Wilhelm Albert.

Under the leadership of Wolfgang Fritsch-Albert, Westfalen AG grew from a regionally active manufacturer of technical gases , liquefied gas supplier and petrol station operator to a group of companies operating across Europe. In Belgium , France , the Netherlands , in Austria , Poland , the Switzerland and the Czech Republic were subsidiaries in the field of gases founded. Revenue increased from the equivalent of about 100 million euros in 1974 to 1,924.0 million euros in 2012. In the ranking of the largest German family businesses Westfalen AG in 2010 was ranked 102nd

Fritsch-Albert was chairman of the board of the German Liquid Gas Association (DVFG) until 1995 . From 1997 to 2006 he was chairman of the UNITI Federal Association of Medium-Sized Mineral Oil Companies . As a member of the advisory board of the Münster University of Applied Sciences , he advocates increased cooperation between the university and business . He works as an honorary commercial judge.

On July 13, 2018, Wolfgang Fritsch-Albert moved to the Supervisory Board of the Westfalen Group after more than 40 years as CEO and was elected Chairman of the Board.
