Wolfgang Holzgreve

Wolfgang Holzgreve (born October 15, 1955 in Möhnesee , Westphalia ) is a German gynecologist , scientist and manager. He is professor of gynecology and obstetrics, active as medical director and chairman of the board at the University Hospital Bonn. He is considered a pioneer in prenatal medicine .

Life

Holzgreve studied medicine and received a Master of Science degree in the School of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley in 1975 . After completing his medical studies at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster and his doctoral thesis , he completed his specialist training at the University Women's Clinic in Münster and from 1982 to 1984 a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco in reproductive genetics. In 1985 he received his specialist certification for obstetrics , as well as additional qualifications in human genetics and sports medicine .

In 1986 Holzgreve was appointed private lecturer and in 1987 appointed as professor by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1995 to 2008, Holzgreve was full professor of obstetrics and gynecology and head of the University Women's Clinic in Basel . In 2007 he obtained an MBA from Lasalle University Philadelphia in their program in Basel. From 2008 to 2010 he was Chief Medical Director and Chairman of the Board of the Freiburg University Medical Center. In 2011 he completed a sabbatical at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin / Center for Advanced Study. On January 1, 2012, he became Medical Director and Chairman of the Executive Board at the University Hospital Bonn , where he was re-elected for a further 5-year term from 2017.

Holzgreve was or is co-editor of more than 15 professional journals and for many years was Editor in Chief of the journal Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy , employee of the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics and International Editor of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology .
