Wolfgang Kuhr

Wolfgang Kuhr (born March 31, 1933 in Gütersloh ) is a former German banker , local politician and lawyer . He was a board member of WestLB and senior district director of the Herford district .

Life

Wolfgang Kuhr studied law and political science at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster from 1954 to 1958 . He dropped out after the assessor exam . His dissertation The municipal savings banks in the Federal Republic of Germany and the liberalization of the European financial services in the context of the completion of the European single market in 1992. In 1991 he submitted a contribution on the relationship between local self-government and the Europeanization of the political process . Initially he was employed as an authorized representative at the Hermann Lampe bank in Bielefeld from 1962 to 1965 . In 1965 the SPD member was elected deputy chief district director of the Herford district and in the same year the incumbent chief district director. His area of responsibility included the construction of a specialty hospital and three vocational schools in the district. He also accompanied the implementation of the municipal territorial reform . At the beginning of 1975 he took up a position as general representative of the then Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (WestLB for short) in Düsseldorf. In the following year he became a deputy member of the board of the Landesbank and in 1977 he became a permanent member of the board. He was also chief lawyer at WestLB. In 1988 the employment relationship ended. Until March 1988 he sat on the supervisory board of the state development company North Rhine-Westphalia . Most recently he worked as an independent lawyer in Münster.

At the same time, Kuhr did volunteer work . He was active in the Westphalian Heimatbund , took on the duties of treasurer for the convent of the Westphalian Cooperative of the Order of St. John in Bad Oeynhausen for over 20 years , led the DRK -Landesverband Westfalen-Lippe into financially healthier times as president and was chairman of the baron's board of trustees -from the Stein Institute Münster. Finally, he also taught as a lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at the Wilhelms University in Münster.
