The Westphalian Heimatbund e. V. (WHB), as the umbrella organization of around 550 local homeland associations and around 700 voluntary homeland caretakers in Westphalia , performs tasks of regional homeland and cultural care. Its seat is in Münster .

The association organizes the Westphalian Day every year . This takes place in changing cities and was first held in 1920. The general assembly of the Westphalian Heimatbund is always part of an extensive program, which includes discussions, lectures and excursions .

He gives u. a. the association organ Heimat Westfalen , which is published six times a year and is dedicated to an annual topic, each with a different focus. In addition, u. a. the permanent series of Westphalian art sites and technical cultural monuments in Westphalia , the yearbook Westphalia , monographs and hiking guides published.

The lawyer Matthias Löb has held the office of chairman since July 1, 2014 . Löb is also the director of the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association . The election emphasizes the close cooperation between the two organizations. Silke Eilers, who has a doctorate in history, took over the management of the company on August 1, 2017, succeeding Edeltraud Klueting .

The WHB is supported by its organs - the general assembly, the executive board and the administrative board. The work of the association is also accompanied and supported by a board of trustees.
