Wolfgang Lux

Wolfgang Lux (born July 1943) is a German table tennis player who took part in the 1962 European Championship .

Wolfgang Lux played in the early 1960s with SC Charlottenburg in the Oberliga , the then highest German division. In 1966 he switched to Tennis Borussia Berlin , in the mid-1970s he was active with the Reinickendorfer Füchsen . From 1989 to 1993 he belonged again to the SC Charlottenburg.

In 1962 he was nominated for the individual competitions of the European Championship in West Berlin. Here he defeated Maurice Cornil (Belgium) and Robert Kerr (Scotland) in the singles, after which he was defeated by the German Hans-Jörg Offergeld . He also progressed two rounds in doubles with Manfred Konieczka : after victories against Alberto Lo / Antonio Osorio (Portugal) and Carlo Jaminet / Valentin Langehegermann (Luxembourg) they were eliminated against the Yugoslav doubles Edvard Vecko / Istvan Korpa . The mixed with Edith Lersow was successful against Alan Rhodes / Mary Shannon (England) and Jan Scheffer / Tine de Jong (Netherlands), against Vojislav Marković/ Monique Alber (Yugoslavia / France) too strong.

Wolfgang Lux achieved several successes at the German senior mixed championships. With Jutta Schultz he finished second in 1986 and first in 1988, and in 1991 and 1993 he won the title together with Jutta Trapp .

Wolfgang Lux was a police officer by profession.
