Hans-Jörg Offergeld

Hans-Jörg Offergeld (born May 5, 1942 ) is a former German table tennis player . With Düsseldorf and Mettmann he was German team champion a total of six times.

Career

Offergeld joined the DJK TuSA 06 Düsseldorf association in 1957 . With his men's team, he was German champion five times in a row from 1962 to 1967. In 1964 and 1965 he was involved in winning the German Cup. He later switched to Mettmanner TV , with which he won the German championship in 1971/72. In 1973 he returned to DJK TuSA 06 Düsseldorf.

In the early 1960s he also appeared internationally and completed two international matches. So he won in September 1962 against the Netherlands in both singles against Gerard Bakker and Bert Onnes and remained undefeated.

In the same year he took part in the individual competitions of the European Championships in Berlin. He defeated Jeffrey Ingber (England), Odd Nielsen (Norway) and Wolfgang Lux (Germany) in the singles and then lost in the round of 16 against Vojislav Marković (Yugoslavia). The doubles with Hans Wilhelm Gäb reached the semi-finals after victories over Fernando Huecas / Tales (Spain), Ian Harrison / Jeffrey Ingber (England) and Martin Ness / Aloizy Ehrlich (France), where it was stopped by Edvard Vecko / Istvan Korpa (Yugoslavia) has been.
