Wolfgang Stratenwerth

Wolfgang Friedrich Stratenwerth (born January 12, 1929 in Duisburg ) is a German business and professional educator .

Professional background

In 1949, Wolfgang Stratenwerth passed his Abitur at the state high school for boys in Bad Laasphe and studied economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne (graduation: business teacher). In 1956 he was awarded a doctorate in economics and social science at the University of Cologne. rer. pole. PhD .

From 1953 to 1963 he was research assistant / senior assistant to Friedrich Schlieper and from 1963 to 1975 deputy head of the research institute for vocational training in the craft at the University of Cologne. From 1962 to 1963 he taught as a guest lecturer at the Free University of Berlin and from 1968 to 1973 as a lecturer at the comprehensive university in Wuppertal . In 1976 he received a professorship for educational science at the Philosophical Faculty of RWTH Aachen University and from 1977 to 1980 he was professor for general educational science (focus: vocational and social pedagogy) at the Pedagogical University of Rhineland (Aachen department).

On January 1, 1981, he accepted the position of professor for business and vocational education at the University of Cologne and at the same time became director of the Institute for business, business and social education at the University of Cologne and, until the end of 1991, of the research institute for vocational training in the craft . He retired on February 28, 1994.
