Wolfgang Wenger

Wolfgang Wenger (born November 18, 1962 in Braunau am Inn ) is an Austrian writer.

Life

Wolfgang Wenger grew up in Gurten in Upper Austria and in Linz / Danube . He studied German and religious education at the University of Salzburg ; he completed this course with a master's degree . Since then he has worked as a teacher at a higher education institution for business professions in St. Johann im Pongau , in addition, he led teacher training and took on teaching assignments for German didactics in the department of German studies at the University of Salzburg . Wenger is also active as a writer. He lives in Adnet / Hallein district .

Wolfgang Wenger is the author of narrative prose , essays and poetry .

Wolfgang Wenger received a. a. the following awards: 1989 the Rauriser Förderpreis , 1994 an annual scholarship from the State of Salzburg and an Austrian state scholarship in 1997 . In 2008 he was awarded the Salzburg Poetry Prize. In 1995 he took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt . In 2017 he was a prizewinner at the Ö1 literary competition "But safe!" with the science fiction text "Das Nautilus-Kalkül", published in the anthology "But safe! The best texts from the Ö1 literary competition", edited by Edith-Ulla Gasser at Verlag Braumüller.
