Wolja-Baranezka (Ukrainian Воля-Баранецька ; Russian Воля-Баранецкая / Wolja-Baranezkaja , Polish Wola Baraniecka ) is a village in the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine with about 600 inhabitants.

The village is located in the west of the historical landscape of Galicia in Sambir district on the Volosivka River (Болозівка), about 12 kilometers northwest of the Sambir district center and 69 kilometers southwest of the Lviv oblast center.

On August 7, 2015, the village became the center of the newly established rural community Volya-Baranezka (Воле-Баранецька сільська громада / Wole-Baranezka silska hromada ), this includes also the 14 villages Baraniwzi (Баранівці) Berestjany , Kolonija (Колонія) , Kopan (Копань) Krasnyzja (Красниця), Mala Werbiwka (Мала Вербівка), Mali Baraniwzi (Малі Баранівці) Mischhajzi (Міжгайці) Rohisno (Рогізно) Sadkowytschi (Садковичі) Werbiwka (Вербівка) Werchiwzi (Верхівці) Wladypil (Владипіль) and Wolyzja (Волиця), until then it made with Baraniwzi , Berestjany , Kopan , Krasnyzja , Mali Baraniwzi , Mischhajzi and Wolyzja the district community Wolja-Baranezka .

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1462, was initially in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania , Ruthenian Voivodeship , and came in 1772 as Wolica Baranicziczky to the then Austrian crown land of Galicia (until 1918 in the Sambor district ).

After the end of the First World War he came to Poland , was here from 1921 as Wola Baraniecka in the Lemberg , Powiat Sambor , Gmina Barańczyce Voivodeship and was only occupied by the Soviet Union during World War II and from 1941 to 1944 by Germany and the Galicia district connected.
