The Vologda ( Russian Вологда ) is a right tributary of the Suchona in the Russian Oblast of Vologda .
Its source is in the west of Vologda Raion . From there it flows in a northerly direction, reaches Sheksna Raion , then turns to the southwest and returns to Vologda Raion. The Vologda valley is heavily populated. Above the city of Vologda , the river takes the Toushnya from the right and turns to the east. After flowing through the city, the river flows in a north-easterly direction, passes a sparsely populated marshland and finally reaches the Suchona at the settlement of Ust-Vologdskoje.
The Vologda has a length of 155 km and has a catchment area of 3030 km².
