Woodland Park is a city in Passaic County , New Jersey , United States . In the 2000 census , a population of 10,987 was recorded. Until 2009 the city was called West Paterson.

As of the 2000 census, there are 10,987 people, 4,397 households and 3,025 families in the city. The population density is 1433.1 inhabitants per km². 86.53% of the population is White, 3.16% African American , 0.08% Native American , 3.83% Asian , 0.04% Pacific Islander , 3.17% from other races, and 3.19% mixed race . 10.06% are Latinos of various origins.
