The Joy Billiards World Chinese 8-Ball Masters 2017 was an invitation-only pool billiards tournament that was held from January 10th to 15th, 2017 at the Olympic Sports Center in Qinhuangdao , China . The Chinese 8-ball discipline was played , i.e. 8-ball on a 9-foot snooker table .
After 2013 and 2014, the winner was Gareth Potts from England for the third time . In the final, he defeated the Chinese Zhang Kunpeng after an 11-11 draw with 2-1 in the shoot-out. Third place went to Shen Chongyang , and Xi Hongyu came fourth. The defending champion was the Chinese Yang Fan who finished 25th.

The 64 invited players competed against each other in a double knockout system . The goal of the lead was 13 games, with the games ending after 130 minutes at the latest (140 minutes in the final), even if the goal was not yet achieved. In the event of a tie after the time ran out, a shoot-out was played in which both players took turns potting a ball from a given position. Both players initially had five attempts. If the shoot-out was not decided after that, the players each had one more try until the game was decided.
