World Series of Darts 2020

The World Series of Darts 2020 is a series of invitation tournaments by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). After six originally scheduled tournaments, there were several postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic , so that only the World Series of Darts Finals will be held this year.

format

16 players take part in each tournament. The top players of the PDC are always seeded. The remainder of the field is filled by local participants who start as unseeded players. For each round reached, the participants receive points that flow into a separate ranking list. This in turn determines the participants in the World Series of Darts Finals. However, since no World Series of Darts events are to take place, the qualification system has been changed ( see: World Series of Darts Finals 2020 # Qualification )

The tournaments are all played in the knockout system . Game mode in all tournaments is a best of legs . The distance of the best of legs increases in the course of the tournament and is different for the tournaments.

Venues

The seventh World Series of Darts will only be held in Austria . In addition, tournaments were planned in Denmark , the United States , Australia and New Zealand .

In the German-speaking countries, the events are not broadcast on TV. But it can be seen on the DAZN streaming service .

Internationally, all games are broadcast by the PDC on livepdc.tv.
