Wu Jian (born May 25, 1986 ) is a Chinese discus thrower .
Athletic career
Wu Jian gained his first international experience at the 2003 Youth World Championships in Sherbrooke , where he won the silver medal with 63.18 m. The following year he took part in the Junior World Championships in Grosseto and was eliminated there with 51.83 m in qualification. In 2009 he took part in the Asian Championships in Guangzhou for the first time , but ended his competition without a valid attempt. Two years later he won the bronze medal behind the Iranian Ehsan Hadadi and Vikas Gowda from India at the Asian Championships in Kobe with 56.61 m . He qualified for the World Championships in Daegu , where he was eliminated with 62.07 m in the qualification. In 2014 he took part in the Asian Games in Incheon for the first time and was fifth with a throw of 58.82 m and sixth at the Asian Championships in Wuhan in 2015 with 55.75 m. In 2018 he again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta and reached eighth place with a width of 56.86 m.
In 2008 and 2010, as well as in 2012 and 2014, Wu was Chinese champion in discus throwing.
